How to say thank you to your doctor

Many times when are health is on the line, it is the doctors and nurses in our lives that can make or break our stay in a hospital and are essential in the outcome of our prognosis. And really at the end of the day, it is the doctors or nurses whom we want to really thank for saving our lives or making our unpleasant experiences a little more bearable. Even if a loved one has passed away and you know that it was that special home health aide that came and made sure they had proper care and comfort everyday you want to show your thankfulness and appreciation? So what is considered an appropriate gift to give a health care professional? Here are some examples on how to say thank you doctor:

In the medical field all hospitals, hospices and the like, generally tell their staff that they are supposed to decline all gifts or report presents to their employers. So sometimes gifts given to the hospital will not always make it into the hands of the person that is supposed to be receiving it. It is always best to give thank you gifts to people in person, or do a little research and send it to their home.

As always thank you gifts do not need to be expensive. A thank you gift to a medical professional can be in the form of a thank you card or letter that expresses your gratitude for a job well done. Nurses and doctors like to know that they are making a difference in peoples lives, since helping others is usually the reason why they got into the health care field.

Flowers and a box of chocolate or even balloons will light up the faces of those you are sending your gifts too. Although cash gifts are nice, some may feel a little awkward receiving money. That is why gift cards are a better more P.C. present. Gift cards to restaurants, the mall, or even the store will always be appreciated. If you must give money, why not let them know you are making a donation to the unit they work in or an organization that brought you two together in the first place. If your mother died of Alzheimer's and you want to say thank you to her health care worker, let him or her know you are donating money to an Alzheimer's charity. Supporting a cause is always a nice gift regardless if they are receiving it directly.

Whatever gift you decide to give to the doctor or medical professional who has impacted your life, just make sure you try to abide by the policies of the facility so they do not get reprimanded for receiving gifts, because of the new policies being implemented. But don't let that scare you from sending a gift, because it is the patients and families who keep the healthcare workers going when times get tough, especially since they are in a profession that revolves around people being ill all the time.

Mother's Day is May 11th, 2008

Mother’s Day is a great day for mothers. Handmade cards, breakfast in bed, a chance to sleep in and be spoiled. On Mother’s Day, many moms enjoy the beauty of fresh cut flowers or spring plants for their garden.

Mother’s Day is a family celebration, which mothers look forward to every year; a chance to switch off the stove and head out to brunch with their children and families.

A gift basket is a great mother’s day gift. With a variety of baskets available it is so easy to tailor the gift to a mother’s specific tastes, hobbies or pleasures. If mom is an avid golf, a basket loaded with golf goodies would fit the occasion to a tee! If mom is a gardener, a basket of spiffy new garden tools would make her bloom with joy. If mom is a Spa lover, a basket of Spa products would help her create a spa in her own bathroom. If mom is an avid tea or coffee drinker, a gift basket of gourmet or exotic coffees and teas is the perfect was to treat her to a little something new.

Regardless of her indulgence or passion, a gift basket is the best way to spoil her on Mother’s Day for weeks to come.

Real Estate Closing Gifts

Finishing that sale on the home or property is a great feeling. However, you are not done yet! Before you can pull out the champagne glasses and make a toast, have you sent your new tenants or clients a real estate closing gift? My guesses are you haven't. And the best real estate closing gifts to give them is a New Home gift basket.

The typical gift of appreciation, is the infamous thank you note. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with a little note of appreciation, but what will really set you apart, and guarantee a good word of mouth, is something else to go along with that note. So why not deliver a wonderful gift basket to their new home or apartment!

So Why Should you Go This extra step and send a gift along with your thank you note?

BECAUSE IT IS GUARANTEED TO MAKE YOUR CLIENT HAPPY!

A happy client, means a great referral to friends and associates. Which means more business for you along with a better success rate! Imagine how many new clients you will get if you sent a Real Estate Closing Gift with each transaction!

And don't forget about the other people involved in the closing of the house or property. Appraisers, lending institutions, closing lawyers, insurance agents, remodeling specialists, house cleaners, just to name a few, are also great people to send a closing gift basket too. How you interact with every person involved before and after the transaction will also help ensure repeat business! And what better way to do that than to send a gift basket as a final thank you for all their cooperation!

Without sending a real estate closing gift, you are missing out on a great opportunity to network through your clients. An opportunity no great property manager, or realtor would want to miss out on.

They say first impressions are everything, but don't forget about your final one! Leave a lasting impression by giving a gift that everyone will love, a New Home gift basket.

Birthday Flowers

If you have ever wondered what kind of flowers to get your loved one on their birthday, then you're not alone. Many people have no idea that their are actual flowers that are associated with the month a person was born in. Not only do the birthday flowers correspond to the month they were born in, they have a meaning behind the chosen flower.

It is important that you choose the right flowers for your loved one instead of going to the store and buying whatever is on sale, or the traditional roses. And as for all the women who are reading this, don't forget that you can get men flowers as well! Traditionally speaking, men have always given women flowers, but a true man can appreciate the aesthetic beauty in the colorful arrangements. Children also love flowers. The best way to present the flowers is to have a teddy bears arms wrapped around the bouquet. Not only do they get flowers, the get a cute and cuddly toy to play with!

These are the modern flowers and their meanings behind them:

  • January: Carnation which signifies fascination
  • February: Iris or Violet shows virtue
  • March: Daffodil means affection
  • April: Daisy or Sweatpea represents pleasure
  • May: Lily shows sweetness and purity
  • June: Rose or Honeysuckle signifies love and happiness
  • July: Larkspur or Waterlily shows lightness
  • August: Gladiolus signifies beauty or imagination
  • September: (forget-me-not) Aster or Morning Glory represent elegance
  • October: Calendula signifies joy and modesty
  • November: Chrysanthemum shows cheerfulness
  • December: Narcissus or Holly signifies goodwill
As always, make sure you put your flowers in a nice vase, and preferably a balloon that lets everyone know it is their birthday. Then, in that special note card tucked away under a delicate leaf, you can write a heartfelt note describing how their particular flower is relevant to them. If you feel that flowers just are not enough, you can always give your loved one a birthday gift basket filled with wonderful goodies.
